Injectables in Singapore are five different things sold under one word: dermal fillers that restore volume, botulinum toxin that quietens muscle, collagen biostimulators that prompt the skin to build its own support, skin boosters aimed at skin quality, and prescription injections with a narrow job such as fat dissolving. This page gathers every guide on the subject, grouped by what is injected and what it is for.

These guides are for three kinds of reader. The first has a specific wish, a sharper chin, a higher nose bridge, fuller lips, a softer frown, and wants to know which product does that, what it cannot do, and what the risks are. The second has noticed that their whole face looks thinner, tired or crepey rather than any one feature being wrong, and is trying to work out whether the answer is volume, collagen or skin quality, because those are three different injections. The third has already had injectables, here or abroad, and something is not right: a lump, a heaviness, a blue tint under the eye, a face that looks fuller than it should.

Injectables are prescription medicines or registered medical devices, and in Singapore they are used under HSA registration and MOH licensing by a doctor. They are deferred in pregnancy and usually while breastfeeding, over active infection or inflamed acne at the site, and in anyone with an unmanaged bleeding tendency; biostimulators are avoided in keloid-prone skin and, on this site, under the eye. A consultation can end with advice to wait, to treat a different layer first with a lift or a laser, or to do nothing. The method page explains the order things are done in: treat the layer that changed, reposition before filling, stage the plan.
What the guides have in common is that each says what the product is, who it suits and does not, how it is done here, what decides the plan, and what recovery looks like, without session counts, figures or outcome promises. Fees are quoted in writing after assessment, as the how we quote page sets out, and WhatsApp enquiries are answered in English and Chinese.
The table sorts the common reasons people ask about injectables into the class that usually answers them, with the limit of each class and the page to read. It is a reading guide, not a prescription; the layer that has actually changed is confirmed in person, often with ultrasound, before anything is planned.
| What you notice | Usual class | What it cannot do | Read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frown, forehead or crow's feet lines that appear when you move | Botulinum toxin | Soften a line etched at rest, or lift heavy skin | Botulinum toxin |
| A square jaw from a bulky chewing muscle | Masseter botulinum toxin, after a clench test | Narrow a wide jawbone or remove jowl fat | Jaw slimming |
| A flat chin, low nose bridge, hollow temples or thin lips | Dermal filler: HA, or CaHA and PCL on bone-support areas | Change the bone, shorten a long face or lift sagging | Dermal fillers |
| A hollow under the eye with a shadow | HA tear trough filler, only after the hollow is confirmed as the cause | Remove a fat bag or pigment; a bag or shadow needs something else | Under-eye filler guide |
| A whole face that has thinned, with good skin | Collagen biostimulator: Sculptra, Ellansé, Radiesse or Juvelook | Be dissolved if overdone; give a sharp contour straight away | Collagen biostimulators |
| Crepey, dull or dehydrated skin that no cream reaches | Profhilo, or an HA skin booster | Add volume or lift; Profhilo is not a filler | Profhilo |
| Rough texture, fine lines, open pores, early scars | Rejuran polynucleotide (Healer, S or I by depth) | Fill a hollow or release a tethered scar | Rejuran |
| Sweating through shirts in air-conditioning | Botulinum toxin to the underarm, after the diagnosis is made | Remove the glands; that is a different technology | Excessive sweating |
| A small pinchable pocket of fat under the chin | Deoxycholic acid injection, an explainer; availability is confirmed at consultation | Tighten skin, move a gland or lengthen a short chin | Fat dissolving injections |
| A face that looks fuller, heavier or lumpier after filler | Ultrasound-guided hyaluronidase for HA; Time Freeze Laser LCLR® for biostimulator overfill | Reverse a biostimulator with an enzyme; there is none | Filler problems |
“I do not choose a product and then look for somewhere to put it. I find the layer that changed, and if that layer does not want an injection, I say so.”

WhatsApp Dr Sin Yong →or use the enquiry formThe page for the problem, not the product. If a line shows only when you move, read the botulinum toxin page; if a feature is flat or hollow, read the dermal fillers page and then the area guide; if the whole face has thinned, read the collagen biostimulators page; if the skin itself is dull or crepey, read Profhilo or the skin booster comparison. The table on this page sorts the common cases.
A filler occupies space as soon as it is placed, which is why it is used to shape a chin or a nose bridge. A biostimulator such as Sculptra or Ellansé prompts the skin to build its own collagen over time, so the change is gradual and cannot be dissolved. A skin booster such as Profhilo or Rejuran is aimed at the quality of the skin, hydration, texture and fine lines, without adding volume or lifting.
Only hyaluronic acid can be dissolved, with hyaluronidase, and on this site that is done under ultrasound guidance so the enzyme goes where the filler sits. Biostimulators, CaHA, PCL and PLLA have no dissolving enzyme and are remodelled instead, which is what the Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is used for. Botulinum toxin is not reversed; its effect wears off as the muscle recovers. This is why reversibility is weighed before the product is chosen.
The fat dissolving page is written as an explainer: what deoxycholic acid does, who the approved use suits, and what it cannot do, which is tighten skin or move a gland. Whether it is offered is confirmed at consultation, where the pocket under the chin is examined and the alternatives on this site, including cold and energy-based options, are set out against it.
