You are suitable for Rejuran when the complaint is how your skin repairs and behaves, meaning texture, fine lines, elasticity and post-acne skin quality, rather than how much volume or hydration it holds. Fish allergy is asked about first, because the polynucleotide is purified from salmon DNA. Dr Sin Yong examines the skin before choosing Healer, S or I; the Rejuran page explains the range.

Suitability for Rejuran starts with a question about allergy and a question about skin. Fish allergy is assessed first, because the polynucleotide comes from salmon DNA. Then the skin itself: thin, textured or post-acne skin that repairs poorly may suit it, while hollows, sagging, pigment and pore size do not. Healer, S or I is chosen once the skin has been examined under light and stretch.
Rejuran delivers polynucleotide, chains of nucleotides purified from salmon DNA, into the dermis by micro-injection. It is directed at the skin's repair environment rather than at its bulk: fibroblast activity, matrix turnover and the signalling that calms inflammation. Nothing in the syringe occupies space or holds a contour. So the suitability question is whether your complaint is about how the skin behaves, which a repair signal can address, or about how much tissue there is, which it cannot. The Rejuran page explains the range; this page answers whether you qualify.

It suits skin that is thin, dull or uneven in texture, with fine lines, loss of elasticity or the surface left behind by acne, in a person who accepts gradual change. Dr Sin Yong examines the skin under good light and under stretch, because post-acne skin has to be sorted before a product is chosen: rolling scars tethered to the dermis, boxcar scars with a fixed wall, ice-pick tracts, and residual redness or pigment that is not scarring at all are treated differently, and a polynucleotide addresses only the skin-quality component. He also asks what has been injected before, and scans with ultrasound where the history includes filler.
Rejuran is often requested as a hydrating booster, and that is not quite what it is. Hyaluronic acid boosters bind water in the dermis and answer dull, dehydrated skin directly. Polynucleotides answer a different question: skin whose repair has stalled, whose texture is uneven, whose elasticity has dropped or whose surface still carries the marks of acne. Both are classed as skin boosters and neither is a filler, but a person whose only complaint is dryness is usually better matched to hyaluronic acid, and a person whose complaint is texture and repair is the one for whom polynucleotide earns its place. The skin booster page sets the classes side by side.

| What you notice | What it usually is | Does Rejuran suit it? | What is weighed instead or alongside |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uneven texture, fine lines, skin that has lost bounce | Dermal quality and repair | Yes, the main indication for Healer | Often paired with resurfacing or RF microneedling |
| Post-acne skin with shallow, soft irregularity | Surface quality after acne | Yes, Rejuran S into and around the scar | Tethered scars need subcision first; depth decides FSX or S3 |
| Dull, dry skin that drinks moisturiser | Dehydration | Not the first choice | A hyaluronic acid booster |
| Hollow under the eye, shadow, puffiness | Volume, fat or fluid, not skin | No; Rejuran I only for crepey lid skin | Diagnosis first; see tear trough refinement |
| Brown marks, redness after acne | Pigment or vessels | No | Laser and topical approaches |
| Enlarged pores | Fixed openings with poor contrast from texture | Only for the texture around them | Pore and texture treatments |
For acne scars the order matters more than the product. A scar still tethered to the dermis is released by subcision before any booster goes near it, and the depth of what remains decides whether FSX or the S3 Resurfacing Lift follows. Rejuran S is one component of that plan, not a substitute for it; the Rejuran S page explains where it fits.
“Rejuran signals the skin to repair. It does not fill, it does not lift, and it does not remove pigment. If what you need is one of those three, I will not sell you a repair signal.”
Dr Sin YongOn who is suitable for Rejuran
The polynucleotide in Rejuran is purified and sterilised from salmon DNA, so what is injected is the polymer, not genetic material, and allergic reaction is rare. It is still the reason fish allergy is asked about directly rather than assumed absent. A documented allergy to fish, or a history of severe allergic reactions of any kind, is discussed before anything is offered, and where the risk is unclear the honest answer is to choose a different class of booster rather than to test it on your face.
Other reasons are about timing. Rejuran is not used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and it is not injected through active infection, a cold sore, an acne flare or inflamed skin, which are treated first. A recent laser, peel, filler or thread in the same area is a reason to wait, so that one treatment can be judged before another is added. Where injection is planned into or around scar tissue, a personal or family history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring is weighed before proceeding, because each micro-injection is a small wound; the keloid page explains what that tendency looks like. A bleeding tendency or blood-thinning medicines make bruising more likely, particularly around the eyes, and are reviewed.
Once the class is right, the preparation follows the tissue. Rejuran Healer is the standard facial preparation, polynucleotide at approximately 20 mg/mL, injected intradermally across the face for texture, fine lines and elasticity. Rejuran S is formulated at a higher viscosity and is intended for scarred skin, where the material is placed into and around the scar rather than spread across a field. Rejuran I is lower in viscosity, intended for the thin skin around the eyes, and Rejuran HB combines polynucleotide with hyaluronic acid so that a repair signal and a hydrating component arrive in one syringe.
| Preparation | Suited to | Not for | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rejuran Healer | Thin, dull or textured facial skin, fine lines, loss of elasticity | Hollows, descent, pigment | The whole-face preparation; see Rejuran Healer |
| Rejuran S | Skin quality in and around acne scars once tethering has been released | Tethered, boxcar or ice-pick scars on their own | One component of a scar plan |
| Rejuran I | Fine lines and crepey skin around the eyes, once the under-eye cause is diagnosed | Hollowing, shadow or herniated fat | Bruising is more likely here; see Rejuran I |
| Rejuran HB | Texture with dehydration, where both signals are wanted | Anyone who needs only one of the two | Polynucleotide with hyaluronic acid |
Under-eye complaints deserve a separate warning. Hollowing, shadow and herniated fat all present as dark circles and none of them is a skin complaint. Rejuran I addresses crepey lid skin only, and if the examination finds a groove, a fat bag or fluid, the answer lies under tear trough refinement or eye bags, not in a booster.
Fees are not advertised, and a figure before examination would describe someone else's skin. What shapes the plan is the area, which preparation the examination points to, whether Rejuran is combined with resurfacing, RF microneedling or subcision, and how the initial and maintenance phases are staged. The how we quote page explains what the written plan contains.
If you are suitable, topical anaesthetic is usual, delivery is by fine needle or an injector device, and small raised points, redness and occasional bruising follow and settle on their own; polynucleotides tend to leave more noticeable bumps at first than a hyaluronic acid booster. Rejuran is often paired with a resurfacing or RF microneedling session in the same plan, as set out under skin boosters with RF microneedling. If you are not suitable, the plan says which class, if any, fits the finding, with the option of no treatment included.

WhatsApp Dr Sin Yong →or use the enquiry formIt is discussed directly rather than assumed. The polynucleotide is purified and sterilised from salmon DNA, so what is injected is the polymer, and reactions are rare, but a documented fish allergy or a history of severe allergic reactions is a reason to consider a different class of skin booster instead. Dr Sin Yong asks about this before anything is offered, and does not test it on your face.
It depends on what the skin is short of. Dull, dry skin that lacks water is a hydration question, usually answered by a hyaluronic acid booster. Thin, textured skin with fine lines, lost elasticity or post-acne irregularity is a repair question, which is where polynucleotide fits. Both are skin boosters and neither is a filler; the examination decides the class, and Rejuran HB exists for skin that needs both.
Rejuran S, which is formulated at a higher viscosity and placed into and around the scar, but only as one part of a plan. A scar that is still tethered is released by subcision first, and the depth of what remains decides whether FSX or the S3 Resurfacing Lift follows. Rejuran S addresses the skin quality around the scar; it does not release a tether or fill a pit on its own.
Only if the examination shows the cause to be crepey, thin lid skin. Hollowing, shadow from a groove and herniated fat all present as dark circles and none of them is a skin complaint, so Rejuran I would not change them. Dr Sin Yong diagnoses the under-eye first; a genuine hollow may be a question for a soft hyaluronic acid filler, and a fat bag is a different conversation.
Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone with active infection, a cold sore, an acne flare or inflamed skin at the injection sites, and anyone who has had a laser, peel, filler or thread in the same area recently. A keloid tendency is weighed where injection is planned into or around scars. Blood thinners are reviewed because bruising, particularly around the eyes, is more likely.
