The GF Lift – Girl’s Friend Lift is Dr Sin Yong’s non-surgical intimate rejuvenation protocol. It uses monopolar radiofrequency, the same family of energy as his VF Lift, to heat the vaginal canal, the opening and the outer labia, directed at the collagen that childbirth, hormones and time loosen. Where the intimate skin or inner thighs have darkened, his R2T2 laser protocol is added for brightening. Every intimate treatment starts with a private examination, informed by his Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

The GF Lift – Girl’s Friend Lift is built on monopolar radiofrequency, the energy Dr Sin Yong uses in his VF Lift for the face and body. Radiofrequency current meets resistance in tissue, and that resistance produces heat as a volume rather than at a point. In the vaginal wall and the skin of the outer labia, controlled heat makes existing collagen contract and prompts fibroblasts to lay down new collagen and elastin over the following weeks. The skin surface is protected while the deeper layer warms.
The protocol works in three zones, planned from the examination:

Nothing is injected, nothing is implanted and nothing is cut. The GF Lift does not strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and does not correct prolapse; those are separate problems, checked for first and treated in their own right.
“Tightening is only part of it. I examine first, because laxity, a weak pelvic floor and early prolapse can feel the same to a woman, and each needs a different answer.”

Dr Sin Yong holds the Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. That women’s health training shapes how an intimate consultation runs here. Before any device is named, he takes a history of pregnancies and deliveries, periods, menopause, contraception, urinary leakage and pain, checks your cervical screening is up to date, and examines privately with a female chaperone.

The aim is to tell apart problems that feel alike:
| GF Lift – Girl’s Friend Lift | G Lift | |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | Monopolar radiofrequency (heat as a volume) | Fractional CO2 laser, MonaLisa Touch (micro-columns in the lining) |
| Zones | Vaginal canal, opening, outer labia and mons | Vaginal lining and opening |
| Often considered for | Laxity after childbirth; loose or deflated outer labia | Laxity with dryness or thinning of the lining, often around menopause |
| Skin surface | Left intact | Micro-ablative columns that heal from the untreated tissue between them |
| Brightening | Paired with R2T2 laser where darkening is a concern | Paired with R2T2 laser where darkening is a concern |
| Chosen by | The examination: some women need one, some both, some neither | |
Darkening of the bikini line, groin, inner thighs and outer intimate skin is common in Asian skin and is rarely discussed. It usually comes from friction, shaving and waxing irritation, hormonal change, pregnancy and weight gain: inflamed skin stimulates pigment cells, and the darkening persists after the irritation has gone. Velvety darkening with skin tags can point to insulin resistance, which is worth checking.

For brightening, Dr Sin Yong uses his own R2T2 laser protocol across the area. R2 Glow is non-ablative and directed at the low-grade inflammation that keeps producing pigment; T2 Frax Radiance is directed at the pigment already deposited, with a thermal pass. Settings are calibrated for medium to darker skin, where too much heat can itself darken the skin. Bleaching creams such as hydroquinone are not used on intimate skin. The same approach is used for dark underarms.
Energy treatments for vaginal laxity have a short and mixed evidence record, and you should know it before you decide. A 2017 randomised, sham-controlled trial of monopolar radiofrequency (VIVEVE I, Journal of Sexual Medicine) reported that women in the active group were more likely to report no vaginal laxity at six months than those given a sham treatment. A larger randomised trial of the same technology, reported in 2020, did not meet its primary endpoint for sexual function at twelve months.
In July 2018 the US Food and Drug Administration warned that energy-based devices had not been cleared or approved for “vaginal rejuvenation”, and that it had received reports of burns, scarring and recurring pain. That is why the examination, the settings and the person performing the treatment matter, and why the GF Lift is offered as a considered option after assessment, never as a promise.
The first visit is a private consultation and examination. If treatment suits, the GF Lift is done in a private room with a female chaperone. The tip is sterile and single-use. You lie comfortably while the tip is moved along the treated zones, and the energy is adjusted to your feedback; most women describe warmth. Brightening with R2T2, where planned, is done in the same visit or separately. Dr Sin Yong gives you aftercare in writing, including when to resume intercourse, exercise and swimming. Unusual pain, discharge, bleeding or blistering should be reported promptly.
The fee depends on which zones are treated (internal, external or both), whether R2T2 brightening is added, and the plan agreed after examination. It is explained in writing before anything is done, including the option of no treatment.
Every treatment is performed by Dr Sin Yong personally. Singapore Medical Council registered · Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland · invited to share his clinical expertise internationally for CLASSYS, DEKA, Fotona, Hironic and Ilooda.

Where darkening is a concern, his R2T2 laser protocol is added for brightening. Nothing is injected.
Non-surgical vaginal tightening uses energy, usually radiofrequency or laser, to heat the vaginal wall so collagen contracts and remodels. In the GF Lift a sterile, single-use radiofrequency tip is moved gently within the vaginal canal and across the opening, while the outer skin is treated externally. There is no cutting and no stitches. A private examination comes first, because prolapse and pelvic floor weakness need different treatment.
Often, yes, to a degree. Laxity after childbirth comes from stretched tissue and, in some women, a weakened pelvic floor. Pelvic floor training helps the muscles; energy treatments such as the GF Lift are directed at the tissue of the vaginal wall. What can change depends on the examination, which is why Dr Sin Yong checks for prolapse and pelvic floor weakness before recommending anything.
The evidence is mixed. A 2017 randomised, sham-controlled trial of monopolar radiofrequency reported more women free of laxity at six months than with a sham treatment, while a larger later trial of the same technology did not meet its sexual-function endpoint. In 2018 the US FDA warned that energy-based devices had not been cleared for vaginal rejuvenation. Results vary, and they are discussed honestly at consultation.
Both are Dr Sin Yong's non-surgical intimate protocols. The G Lift uses a fractional CO2 laser (MonaLisa Touch) on the vaginal lining, and is often considered where dryness and thinning around menopause are part of the picture. The GF Lift uses radiofrequency heat, internally and externally, and also firms the outer labia. Some women need one, some both, which is decided after examination.
Darkening of the inner thighs, groin and bikini line is common in Asian skin and usually comes from friction, hormones, shaving irritation or, sometimes, insulin resistance. Reducing friction and irritation helps. For established darkening, Dr Sin Yong uses his R2T2 laser protocol: R2 Glow calms the inflammation that keeps producing pigment, and T2 Frax Radiance works on the pigment itself. Bleaching creams are not used on intimate skin.
Mostly from friction and inflammation. Thighs rubbing together, tight clothing, shaving and waxing irritate the skin, and in medium to darker skin that irritation stimulates pigment cells, leaving post-inflammatory darkening. Hormonal changes, pregnancy and weight gain add to it. Velvety darkening with skin tags can be a sign of insulin resistance, which is worth checking with a doctor.
Most women describe warmth rather than pain. The energy and passes are adjusted to your feedback throughout, and no anaesthetic injection is needed. A female chaperone is present for every intimate treatment, and the session is private.
It is not done during pregnancy, with an active infection, with unexplained bleeding, or while an abnormal cervical screening result is still being followed up. A pacemaker or metal implant near the area also rules out radiofrequency. After childbirth, treatment waits until healing is complete. Prolapse or significant pelvic floor weakness is referred for the right care first.
Yes. Dr Sin Yong holds the Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. That training sits behind the private examination before any intimate treatment: your cervical screening history is checked, laxity is told apart from prolapse or a pelvic floor problem, and you are referred to a gynaecology specialist where surgery or further investigation is needed.
Dr Sin Yong performs the GF Lift himself, with a female chaperone present throughout. If you would prefer a female doctor, tell the clinic when you book and the options will be explained.
