Devices in Dr Sin Yong's practice is a set of plain fact sheets for the devices named on drsinyong.com, written for patients who want to know what energy each uses and which tissue layer it reaches. No device is a treatment on its own; the examination decides which instrument, if any, is used.

Abstract illustration of the layers of the skin, used to show where different energies act

This page is a set of plain fact sheets for the devices named on drsinyong.com. Each entry states the energy type, the tissue layer it reaches, the indications the site lists, which of Dr Sin Yong's protocols run on it and any manufacturer certificate he holds for it. It contains no manufacturer marketing. No device is a treatment on its own: the examination decides which layer is responsible for what you see, and therefore which instrument, if any, is used.

CLASSYS Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency at 6.78 MHz

Volnewmer is a monopolar radiofrequency platform made by CLASSYS. It runs at 6.78 MHz with continuous water cooling of the skin surface, and the current passes through tissue to heat the dermis and the fibrous septa beneath it volumetrically, so an entire treatment zone is heated rather than discrete points. The site describes the thermal effect as controlled bulk heating that prompts collagen contraction and remodelling, and lists a pacemaker, other implanted electronic devices and metal implants in the field as reasons not to treat.

It is the platform the VF Lift – Vertical Facelift leads with: Dr Sin Yong's protocol, planned zone by zone along vertical vectors, with three aims the site calls Lift, Reduce and Restore, and customised for the face and the body. The VF Lift is radiofrequency only; it does not use focused ultrasound or Ultraformer, and it is not an Ultherapy protocol. He presented it at the 7th CLASSYS APAC Symposium 2026 in Bangkok and is described on the site as an International Key Opinion Leader for CLASSYS. The CLASSYS certificate listed on his About page is for Ultraformer MPT; for Volnewmer the site records the KOL role and the symposium presentation.

CLASSYS Ultraformer MPT micro-pulsed focused ultrasound

Ultraformer MPT is the micro-pulsed generation of CLASSYS's HIFU platform. Ultrasound converges to thermal coagulation points at set depths: cartridges at 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.5 mm for the face, reaching from the superficial dermis to the SMAS, and 6, 9 and 13 mm cartridges for the body. Micro-Pulsed Technology lays energy in rapid micro-pulses along each line rather than single shots. The site lists mild to moderate laxity as the indication, early jowls, a softening jawline and neck laxity, and describes advanced, heavily mobile laxity as surgical territory that no ultrasound reaches.

It is kept separate from the VF Lift, which does not use focused ultrasound, and appears within the HIFU programme, the sagging-face pathway and the neck protocols. The shallow booster cartridges can be run with the DSB ampoule as the coupling medium in the needle-free Deep Synergy Booster. Dr Sin Yong holds the Certified Key Opinion Leader Trainer certificate for Ultraformer MPT, issued by IDS Medical Systems (Singapore) and CLASSYS in November 2025.

“The device is the instrument, not the treatment — two clinics with identical Ultraformers can deliver entirely different results, because the lift is in the mapping.”

Secret Duo RF microneedling with a 1540 nm laser

Secret Duo pairs radiofrequency microneedling with a 1540 nm non-ablative fractional laser on one platform. Insulated or non-insulated needles are set to an adjustable depth, typically 0.5 to 3.5 mm, and release radiofrequency at the tips to form coagulation columns in the dermis while the surface is spared; the 1540 nm laser heats narrow columns of dermis without removing the epidermis. The site lists rolling and shallow boxcar acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture and early laxity, and describes the approach as workable in Fitzpatrick III to V skin.

Three of his protocols run on it. The 4K Body Lift delivers radiofrequency through insulated microneedles to point zones of compact resistant fat and the skin over it, on the tummy, waist, thighs and arms; it is radiofrequency only and does not use EMS. RF microneedling for scars and pores is staged after subcision or TCA CROSS where those are needed. The Luminescence Laser is his non-ablative 1540 nm protocol for shallower scars, pores and texture, and also his first-line laser approach for hair regrowth. The FSX Laser, which the site describes as a 1540 nm and 1927 nm protocol, draws its 1540 nm erbium glass pass from the same wavelength class; the site does not name a platform for the 1927 nm thulium pass. He holds the appointment of Secret DUO Microneedling Trainer from ilooda Co Ltd.

DEKA SmartXide Tetra Pro fractional CO2 at 10,600 nm

The SmartXide Tetra Pro is DEKA's fractional CO2 laser. Its 10,600 nm wavelength is absorbed by water, so it ablates microscopic columns of skin and leaves intact skin between them; the dermis remodels collagen while the surface heals from the untreated islands. Pulse Shape Design lets the physician set the shape of each pulse as well as its energy, which the site gives as the reason it suits scar work: deep, narrow ablation at a scar edge, then shallow, wide passes on the texture around it.

Three protocols run on it. S3 Resurfacing Lift is Dr Sin Yong's multi-depth protocol, placing point shots into individual scar pits before fractional passes and sequenced after subcision and TCA CROSS have released tethered scars and collapsed icepick tracts. 4D Scar Reconstruction adds subcision, TCA CROSS and Radiesse to the laser arm. The G Lift applies the same fractional principle to the vaginal mucosa and introitus. The site states that ablative resurfacing carries a higher risk of post-inflammatory pigment change in Fitzpatrick III to V skin and that settings are planned around it. He holds the Certified Key Opinion Leader Trainer certificate for the SmartXide Tetra Pro, issued by DEKA and NeoAsia in October 2025, and his practice is a certified DEKA Centre of Excellence.

DEKA RedTouch Pro a 675 nm laser absorbed by collagen

RedTouch Pro delivers a 675 nm wavelength fractionally through a scanner, under a contact-cooling handpiece that holds the epidermis cold. The site's distinction is the chromophore: most resurfacing lasers heat the water in tissue, whereas 675 nm is absorbed preferentially by collagen itself, so the effect is produced in the reticular dermis, roughly 2 to 3 mm down, without ablating the surface. The wavelength also interacts with the vascular component of the dermis, which is the basis for its use in redness.

It is the platform behind the 少女光 (Shaonu Guang) Laser, which the site directs at facial redness and the vascular presentation of rosacea, inflammatory activity in acne, enlarged pores and laxity, and describes as suited to periodic maintenance rather than an intensive corrective course. The DEKA Centre of Excellence page adds skin brightening and the scalp in androgenetic alopecia as further uses, alongside the Luminescence Laser rather than in place of it. He holds the Certified Key Opinion Leader Trainer certificate for the Red Touch Pro, issued by DEKA and NeoAsia in December 2025.

DEKA ONDA Pro Coolwaves microwave at 2.45 GHz

Onda Pro is neither a laser nor a radiofrequency device. It delivers microwave energy at 2.45 GHz, which DEKA calls Coolwaves, under contact cooling of the skin. At that frequency the energy is absorbed preferentially by adipose tissue, so proportionally more of it reaches the subcutaneous fat than is taken up by the dermis on the way through. The site lists three targets: the membranes of fat cells, the fibrous septa between adipose lobules whose tethering produces the dimpling of cellulite, and dermal collagen, which contracts and remodels as a secondary effect.

Body areas named are the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms and the submental region. A finer handpiece is used on the lower face, jawline and under the chin for what the site calls Onda lifting, where the target is dermal collagen at a shallower depth. It sits alongside rather than in place of the 4K Body Lift, because microwave and radiofrequency place energy in different layers. A pacemaker, a nerve stimulator, pregnancy, a current or recent cancer and clotting disorders are among the exclusions listed. He holds the Certified Key Opinion Leader Trainer certificate for ONDA Pro, issued by DEKA and NeoAsia in February 2026.

DEKA TORO picosecond and nanosecond pulses in one system

TORO is a Q-switched Nd:YAG system that emits 785 nm in picosecond mode and 532 nm and 1064 nm in nanosecond mode, at a repetition rate of up to 20 Hz, with a longer thermal-mode pulse on the same platform. Picosecond pulses act photoacoustically: the pulse ends before heat conducts into surrounding tissue, so pigment is fragmented mechanically rather than burned. DEKA states the 785 nm emission was engineered with Fitzpatrick III to V skin in mind, which the site treats as a design intention rather than a promise.

It is the platform of T2 Frax Radiance, Tighten and Tone: picosecond toning for uneven tone and deposited pigment, and the thermal mode for a dermal collagen response where early laxity or texture is the concern. The site is explicit that picosecond pulses do not make pores smaller and that melasma is approached conservatively, if at all. Low-fluence 1064 nm laser toning is described on its own page. TORO was one of the three platforms reviewed when the DEKA delegation certified the practice as a Centre of Excellence in July 2026; no device-specific TORO certificate is listed.

HIRONIC New Doublo 2.0 HIFU and radiofrequency on one platform

The New Doublo 2.0 is HIRONIC's HIFU platform. It delivers focused ultrasound to the SMAS and the deep dermis to form thermal coagulation points that trigger collagen contraction and remodelling. The site describes it as One System, Three Energies: focused ultrasound for the structural layer, with radiofrequency capability for the mid-layer between SMAS and dermis and for superficial tightening, so the structural and mid layers can be addressed in one session without moving between devices.

It is the structural lifting foundation of Dr Sin Yong's 3D Facial Reconstruction, the Definitive Dynamic Depth protocol that maps deep lifting, mid-layer volume and surface quality separately, and the site also places the Doublo foundation within his RVR ProLift work. He presented the platform under the title Beyond HIFU to physicians in Singapore in October 2025 and at AMWC Asia–TDAC 2026 in Taipei, invited by HIRONIC and hosted by its distributor Collamatrix. He holds the Certified Key Opinion Leader Trainer certificate for the New Doublo 2.0, issued by HIRONIC and NeoAsia in October 2025.

Fotona StarWalker and PQX picosecond laser for tattoo removal

The site states that tattoo removal at the practice uses a picosecond laser on the Fotona StarWalker platform, with wavelength and energy chosen by ink colour, density and skin type at a separate evaluation. Fotona's PQX is described as a picosecond Nd:YAG system at 1064 nm and 532 nm with further wavelength handpieces: 1064 nm is the workhorse for black ink and darker skin, 532 nm answers red and orange inks, and blue and green inks are harder. The pulses fragment ink into fine particles that the immune system clears gradually between visits.

The home page lists StarWalker PQX and MaQX among the Fotona platforms in use. No proprietary protocol is named for them, and the site says plainly that complete clearance cannot be promised and that some bright colours respond poorly. He holds two Fotona certificates issued through Servicom Medical (Singapore): Key Opinion Leader, PQX Distinguished Practitioner, and Key Opinion Leader, StarWalker 4S Distinguished Practitioner.

Lutronic Clarity II long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm

Clarity II is a long-pulsed laser carrying two wavelengths: 755 nm alexandrite, which melanin absorbs strongly, and 1064 nm Nd:YAG, which surface melanin absorbs less and which penetrates deeper. For laser hair removal the site matches the wavelength to the skin: 755 nm where dark or finer hair sits on Fitzpatrick I to III skin, 1064 nm for Fitzpatrick IV to VI and recently tanned skin, chosen area by area with every session doctor-supervised. The 755 nm wavelength is also used for discrete freckles and lentigines, and the site says it is not used for melasma.

The same long-pulsed 755 and 1064 nm platform underpins two of his protocols. R2 Glow is a non-ablative multi-pass protocol directed at the low-grade inflammation behind dull, uneven tone rather than at deposited pigment. Time Freeze Laser LCLR® names a Lutronic long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm platform in its key facts. The treatment pages refer to the device by protocol name; the home page and the About page name Clarity II. The About page records him as a qualified trainer for Clarity II, recognised by idsMED and Lutronic.

Thermage FLX monopolar radiofrequency from Solta

Thermage FLX is Solta Medical's fourth-generation monopolar radiofrequency applicator. It delivers capacitively coupled radiofrequency at 6.78 MHz through a 4.0 cm² tip to a depth of approximately 4.3 mm, heating the dermis and fibrous septae in bulk while cryogen cools the epidermis before, during and after each pulse. The site lists mild to moderate laxity of the face, eyelids, neck and body, and states that it does not add volume, reduce fat or remove excess skin.

Thermage is offered at the clinic as a standalone option rather than as one of his named protocols. The site compares it directly with the VF Lift, which runs on a different monopolar platform and adds the Reduce and Restore aims, and with Time Freeze Laser LCLR®, which works by laser heating rather than radiofrequency. Where the assessment finds change in fat distribution or volume rather than in the skin envelope alone, one of those protocols may be planned alongside it or instead of it. No manufacturer certificate for Thermage is listed.

LDM dual-frequency ultrasound without heat

LDM, local dynamic micro-massage, is a dual-frequency therapeutic ultrasound device. Two megahertz frequencies alternate rapidly to create a mechanical micro-massage within the tissue rather than sustained heating; the site describes the intent as non-thermal and anti-inflammatory. It is unfocused, low-intensity ultrasound directed at the skin itself, which is the opposite of HIFU, and the site states that it does not lift or tighten the face.

The indications listed are dehydrated, sensitive or reactive skin, barrier disruption, and recovery after laser treatment, with medical-grade serums applied immediately afterwards while the skin is more permeable. It is not attached to one of his named protocols. It is planned as a short initial course and then spaced out for maintenance, with intervals set individually. No manufacturer certificate is listed for LDM.

Regenera Activa autologous micrografting, not an energy device

Regenera Activa is not an energy-based device. It uses Rigenera autologous micrografting technology: three 2.5 mm punch biopsies are taken under local anaesthetic from the occipital and retro-auricular scalp, where follicles are comparatively protected from DHT, then mechanically disaggregated and filtered into micrografts of approximately 80 microns. The resulting suspension of progenitor cells, signalling factors and extracellular matrix is injected into the thinning areas in the same visit.

The site lists male and female pattern hair loss as the indication, staged on the Norwood and Ludwig scales first, because the treatment acts on miniaturising follicles and not on follicles already lost. It moves no follicles, so it is not a hair transplant; where relocation is the realistic tool, referral is made to an appropriate surgical specialist. It sits alongside medical therapy rather than replacing it. No manufacturer certificate is listed for Regenera Activa.

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® the platform behind the protocol

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is Dr Sin Yong's dual-wavelength laser lifting protocol, and its key facts name the platform as Lutronic, long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm. LCLR® stands for Laser Collagen Lipo Remodelling: controlled heating of the superficial, mid and deep dermis for collagen contraction and remodelling, with a lipo-modelling arm directed at compact fat along the jowl, under the chin and in selected body zones. The site states that it works by laser heating rather than the focused ultrasound of Ultherapy or the radiofrequency of Thermage.

Face zones listed are sagging jowls, nasolabial folds, droopy eyelids, the under-eye region and the neck; body zones include the underarms, tummy, flanks, buttocks, thighs and the intimate area. Together with the VF Lift it is built to target Sculptra and Ellansé and take away the excess, each deposit mapped with ultrasound first; not every laser can do this. The Luminescence Laser incorporates its lifting component in the same visit, and the FSX Laser is described as a separate LCLR® protocol on 1540 nm and 1927 nm. Marked skin excess is referred for a surgical opinion.

Ultherapy Prime focused ultrasound with visualisation

Ultherapy Prime is the current Ultherapy platform from Merz Aesthetics: micro-focused ultrasound with visualisation, which images the tissue layers on screen before each line is delivered and places thermal coagulation points at 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm in the dermis and the SMAS. The physics is the same as other HIFU; what differs is the live imaging, the transducer design and the regulatory clearance. The site lists mild to moderate laxity and notes that a slim face can look more hollow if heat is placed over thin areas.

Dr Sin Yong performs Ultherapy on the Prime platform and compares it on the site with Ultraformer MPT, which he also uses, choosing between them by anatomy and protocol rather than treating either as a substitute for assessment. It is not one of his named protocols, and the VF Lift is not an Ultherapy protocol. No manufacturer certificate for Ultherapy is listed.

Which device is used is decided by the layer, not the menu

Every page on this site makes the same point in different words: a device is the instrument, not the treatment. Pigment, superficial inflammation, the dermal collagen scaffold, the fat layer and the SMAS sit at different depths and absorb different energies, and the examination decides which layer is responsible for what you see. Two clinics with the same machine can use it quite differently, which is why the pages above describe protocols rather than product names.

The certificates named here are listed on the About page and the originals can be viewed at consultation. They record that a manufacturer or distributor has recognised Dr Sin Yong to share his clinical experience of a platform with other physicians. They do not promise an outcome, and suitability for any device is decided in person, after a medical history and an examination.

Frequently Asked Questions

The site names CLASSYS Volnewmer, Ultraformer MPT and Secret Duo; DEKA SmartXide Tetra Pro, RedTouch Pro, ONDA Pro and TORO; HIRONIC New Doublo 2.0; Fotona StarWalker and PQX; Lutronic Clarity II; Thermage FLX; Ultherapy Prime; LDM; and Regenera Activa. Each is described above by energy, depth and the protocol it serves.

No. The VF Lift – Vertical Facelift runs on Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency and does not use focused ultrasound. Ultraformer MPT is a separate HIFU platform, and where both appear in a plan they are planned as separate treatments.

Focused ultrasound converges energy to discrete coagulation points at fixed depths, down to the SMAS. Monopolar radiofrequency passes a current through tissue and heats the dermis in bulk. Microwave, used by Onda Pro, is absorbed preferentially by fat. They act on different layers and are not substitutes for one another.

They are certificates issued by a manufacturer or its distributor recognising Dr Sin Yong to share his clinical experience of that platform with other physicians. They are listed on the About page, originals can be viewed at consultation, and they do not promise an outcome for any patient.

It depends on the scar type. The DEKA Tetra Pro fractional CO2 laser is behind S3 Resurfacing Lift and 4D Scar Reconstruction; Secret Duo RF microneedling suits rolling and shallow boxcar scars; subcision and TCA CROSS come first for tethered and icepick scars. The scar map decides, not the device.

No. Fees are not published on this site; they depend on what the assessment finds and are set out at consultation before anything is agreed, in line with Singapore's rules on medical advertising.
