Thread lift cost is set by the zones mapped at assessment, the number of vectors each zone needs, the thread material and gauge chosen for each vector, whether mono threads are added to cog threads, the physician time the map takes, and whether threads are combined with an energy-based treatment or filler. Singapore's rules restrict how fees may be advertised, so no figure appears here; a written quote follows mapping.

Key facts
Fee basis
A written quote once the vectors have been drawn on the face with you seated upright; the thread count is only known at that point
Zones
Jowl, mid-face, brow and neck are assessed separately, and each on the plan carries its own vectors
Material and gauge
PDO cog threads for most jowl and mid-face vectors; PCL where tissue is heavier or longer support is planned; chosen per vector, not per face
Cog or mono
Cog threads reposition tissue; smooth mono threads are sometimes added where skin firmness is part of the plan, as their own line

In brief

Thread lift cost factors cannot be fixed until your face has been mapped sitting upright, because the thread count follows the vectors drawn, zone by zone across jowl, mid-face, brow and neck. Material is chosen per vector, PDO cogs for most and PCL where tissue is heavier, any smooth mono threads are a separate line, and Dr Sin Yong places every thread himself.

Why is there no thread lift figure on this page?

Singapore's rules for medical advertising restrict how doctors may publish fees, and a thread lift is the clearest case of why a figure before examination means nothing. A thread lift is not one procedure but a set of vectors, each chosen for one zone of the face, and the number of threads is only known once those vectors have been drawn on the skin. Before that, the first question is whether a thread is the right mechanism at all: threads reposition tissue that has slid, and where the whole lower face hangs on loosened fascia they have nothing firm to anchor to. The practice-wide rules are on how fees are quoted, and the technique itself is described under the Bliss Lift.

How do zones and vectors decide the count?

The count is reached from the map, not the other way round. Dr Sin Yong examines the face upright and in animation, checks skin thickness and recoil by pinch, and identifies which fat pads have moved and which have deflated. Vectors are then drawn zone by zone, each with an anchor point, a direction and a thread choice: jowl vectors from in front of the ear across the jowl toward the jawline, mid-face vectors obliquely from a temporal anchor across the cheek, and short brow threads from within the hairline. The neck is assessed separately, and crepey neck skin more often suits an energy-based option.

So the plainest driver is how many zones are on the plan and how many vectors each needs, and the zones interact, since lifting the mid-face without addressing an early jowl can leave the lower face heavier by contrast. The map is the plan, and the quote names the zones and vectors rather than a single whole-face count.

Zone on the planWhat the vectors doWhat moves the count
Jowl and jawlineDraw an early jowl back onto the jawline from an anchor in front of the earHow much tissue the vector must carry; one side or both
Mid-face and cheekCarry a cheek fat pad back toward where it satDegree of descent; skin thickness over the vector
BrowSupport the tail of the brow from within the hairlineUsually short threads; whether the eyelid is the real question

“I cannot tell you how many threads until I have drawn on your face. Anyone who can is selling a number, not a lift.”

Dr Sin YongOn how a thread lift is quoted

Does the thread type change the fee?

Material is chosen per vector rather than per face, and the quote names it. PDO cog threads are used for most jowl and mid-face vectors. PCL is chosen where tissue is heavier, where sustained support is planned, or where vectors are being re-laid after an earlier PDO lift has resorbed; it resorbs more slowly and leaves a longer-lasting collagen track, but it changes how long the support lasts, not what a thread can hold.

Cog and mono threads do different jobs and are quoted as different lines. Cog threads, with barbs along their length, are the one type that repositions tissue. Smooth mono threads do not lift; they are sometimes added where skin firmness is part of the plan, and a quote that counts them in with the cog threads hides what each is for. Longevity brings its own trade-off: a slower-resorbing thread is a longer wait if the placement is not what was wanted, because absorbable threads cannot be dissolved on demand.

What do doctor time, review and combinations add?

Physician time runs through every line, because the map is drawn and every thread placed by Dr Sin Yong himself. Review is written into the plan: it confirms the vectors have settled, checks for dimpling or a palpable thread, and is where any adjustment is decided.

Threads reposition; they do not add volume, remove skin or firm the skin surface, so a plan often pairs them with something else. Where a cheek has deflated, volume is restored first or instead, as the thread lift vs fillers comparison sets out. Where the fascia has loosened, VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, radiofrequency on Volnewmer, works on the layer that let the tissue slide. Each is quoted as its own line, and many faces are assessed for both threads and a lifting treatment and leave with one.

What is not on the quote, and how should you compare?

Not on the quote: a count fixed before the face has been mapped, a package sold on the day, and any plan the assessment does not support. Threads disappoint people with established skin excess, very thin skin where a cog can show or dimple, or a face heavy with fat where a thread under tension can cut through.

When comparing with a quote from elsewhere, ask which zones and how many vectors, which material and gauge for each, whether cog and mono threads are shown separately, who draws the map and places the threads, and whether review is included. A round number of threads quoted before anyone has drawn on your face is a template, not a plan. Recovery is on the thread lift downtime page, and what can go wrong is under thread lift gone wrong.

Frequently Asked Questions

Singapore's rules restrict how fees may be advertised, so no figure is given here. The fee follows the zones mapped, the vectors each needs, the thread material and gauge for each vector, whether mono threads are added, physician time and any combination with an energy-based treatment or filler. A written quote follows once the vectors have been drawn.

Material is one of the factors and is chosen per vector rather than per face: PDO for most jowl and mid-face vectors, PCL where tissue is heavier or longer support is planned. The quote names the material and its reason. A slower-resorbing thread also means a longer wait if the placement is not what was wanted.

From the map. Dr Sin Yong examines the face upright and in animation, identifies which fat pads have moved, and draws each vector with an anchor, a direction and a thread choice. The count follows the zones and vectors on that map, which is why it is only known at consultation and not quoted from a photograph.

Threads reposition tissue that has slid, and they need firm tissue to anchor to and skin thick enough to cover them. Where the whole lower face hangs on loosened fascia, a thread has nothing firm to hold, so VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, radiofrequency on Volnewmer, is assessed instead. Many faces are assessed for both and leave with one.
