What to expect with Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is mostly planning, then a treatment you can return to your day from. Dr Sin Yong assesses and maps the zones himself, adjusts wavelength and energy as he works, and protects the eyes throughout. There are no needles for the lifting component. This page walks through the visit in order, from before you book to the review.

Short answerA Time Freeze Laser LCLR® visit starts with an assessment, not a laser. Dr Sin Yong takes your history, examines each zone and maps earlier filler with ultrasound where needed. During treatment the eyes are protected and the zones feel warm while settings are adjusted zone by zone. Afterwards there is no redness, no downtime, sunscreen goes on before you leave, and a review reads the response.

What happens before a Time Freeze visit?

Before any laser is used there is an assessment, and it decides whether Time Freeze is the right tool at all. Dr Sin Yong examines you himself on Orchard Road. He separates laxity, compact fat, settled product and lost volume, and reads how much fat each area has to spare: a puffy or heavier area suits Time Freeze, while a lean one is usually planned with the VF Lift – Vertical Facelift. Who suits the protocol is set out on Time Freeze Laser LCLR® suitability.

Before you book

You leave the consultation with a written plan: what he would do, what he would not, the fee factors and the option of no treatment. You are not expected to decide, or to be treated, on the day.

How are the zones planned and the eyes protected?

On the day the plan is confirmed and the area examined again. Each zone is assigned its job: lifting parameters where tissue needs tightening, Sculpting-mode parameters where compact fat or settled filler is targeted, and skin-quality parameters for fine lines and pores. Lean zones are left out of the Sculpting mode.

Where filler, a collagen stimulator or fat graft is part of the picture, each deposit is mapped with ultrasound before any energy is delivered, locating it and measuring its size and depth, so that treatment is directed at the excess rather than the surrounding tissue. Dr Sin Yong performs the scan himself. Hyaluronic acid on the map is usually dissolved instead.

Laser light can injure the eye, so protective eyewear or eye shields are used throughout, and settings around the eyelids are kept conservative. On the neck, the thyroid and the midline are kept out of the field. How the Sculpting mode is planned for lumps is set out on the Sculpting mode of Time Freeze Laser LCLR®.

“Nothing is fired until each zone has a job. Lifting here, Sculpting there, and the lean parts left alone. The plan is drawn before the laser is switched on.”

Dr Sin YongOn how a Time Freeze visit is run

What does Time Freeze feel like during treatment?

The treated zones feel warm during the session. Time Freeze is a scanning laser protocol, delivering controlled heat across a zone rather than to discrete points at a fixed depth. There is no anaesthesia and there are no needles for the lifting component. Comfort varies between people, and how any discomfort is managed is discussed at consultation, before the day.

Dr Sin Yong calibrates wavelength, fluence and treatment vector in real time, according to how the tissue responds in each zone, rather than running a fixed preset. Telling him what you feel is part of the treatment. A zone where the Sculpting mode is used on compact fat or settled product may feel tender afterwards. He performs every treatment himself; it is not delegated to a nurse or therapist.

What happens straight afterwards and as the skin settles?

There is no redness and no downtime. The skin surface is not broken, and you can return to work, make-up and normal activities straight after the session. The warmth in the treated zones settles. Sunscreen goes on before you leave the building, because the 755 nm wavelength is absorbed by melanin and heated skin is more reactive to ultraviolet light.

Cleanse gently, moisturise plainly, and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning, reapplied outdoors. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga and hot showers on the face on the day, and leave a tender zone alone rather than pressing or massaging it. Written aftercare names the zones treated and whether the Sculpting mode was used, and it takes priority over this page. The full checklist is on Time Freeze Laser LCLR® aftercare.

What is normal, and what needs a call

What happens at the Time Freeze review?

The review is timed to the tissue response rather than booked to repeat the treatment by default. Collagen contraction from the visit is followed by gradual remodelling, and where the Sculpting mode was used, reduction is gradual too. Dr Sin Yong examines each zone, compares it with the photographs in your record, and where filler or fat graft was targeted maps any remaining excess with ultrasound.

The need for filler is reassessed once the tissue has responded. Whether anything further is appropriate is decided then, and the answer can be nothing. Where laxity in a lean area remains, the VF Lift – Vertical Facelift may be planned; Time Freeze can be used together with it on the same face. What the review looks for is set out on Time Freeze results, and how the next step is quoted on Time Freeze cost factors.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no anaesthesia and there are no needles for the lifting component. The treated zones feel warm during the session, and a zone treated with the Sculpting mode can feel tender afterwards. Comfort varies between people, so how any discomfort is managed is discussed at consultation, before the treatment day.

Yes. There is no redness and no downtime, and the skin surface is not broken, so work, meals and social plans continue straight after the session. Apply sunscreen before you leave, and avoid saunas, steam rooms and hot showers on the face on the day if a zone was treated with the Sculpting mode.

Yes, as usual, once broad-spectrum sunscreen is in place. Nothing on the surface needs to heal. Strong exfoliants and retinoids can continue if the skin is calm and are paused if it feels sensitive. Your written aftercare names the zones treated and takes priority over general advice.

You are not expected to be. The consultation ends with a written plan, the fee factors and the option of no treatment, and you can take it away and decide in your own time. Consent is taken before treatment, with time to consider it. Treatment is booked once you have agreed the plan.

Ordinary exercise continues without interruption, because nothing on the surface has been injured. On the day, avoid hot yoga, saunas and steam rooms, mainly because a zone treated for fat or filler excess is more comfortable without added heat while it is tender. Wear sunscreen if you exercise outdoors.

Dr Sin Yong performs every treatment himself, from the assessment and ultrasound mapping to the laser. It is not delegated to a nurse or therapist. Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is his own protocol on a long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm laser platform, and he adjusts the settings zone by zone as he works.
