Patients often ask which machine is best. Dr Sin Yong answers the same way every time: a device is only a device. The result comes from the technique, the experience behind it, and whether the plan was made for your face or for a menu.
Ultherapy Prime, Thermage, HIFU, a radiofrequency handpiece or a laser is a tool, in the way a suture is a tool. In experienced hands a suture gives a clean, lasting facelift; in inexperienced hands the same suture can leave scarring and a poor result. The device is identical in both cases. What differs is the technique and the experience, and that is where the result is decided.
One patient looks natural and another has bulges and folds that were never there before, with the same product from the same box. Where the filler is placed, how deep, how much, and in what sequence decide the outcome. It is never the product alone. Most of the filler problems Dr Sin Yong corrects, including those from patients who fly in from Dubai, South Africa and Hong Kong, were caused by amount and placement, not by the brand.
Dr Sin Yong sees many patients who had Ultherapy Prime or Thermage elsewhere with little visible change. The device did not fail. The treatment was not customised to that face, the depths and lines were not chosen for it, and the technique was not optimal for it. A template applied to every face gives a template result.
The Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is Dr Sin Yong’s optimised protocol: zones, energy and sequence are planned for each patient after an in-person assessment and, where filler is involved, after ultrasound mapping. Its three uses — lifting every zone, taking away excess filler in the same session, and reducing loose fat in sagging areas while the skin tightens — are set out on its page. The same thinking applies to every device in the clinic: the plan comes first, the machine second.
Suitability for any treatment is decided at an in-person assessment; results vary.
