FSX Laser, from Flawless Smooth Skin, is Dr Sin Yong's laser skin protocol for texture, enlarged pores, pigmentation and mild laxity. It works on the skin surface and upper dermis. For droopy, hooded eyelids it is the protocol he uses when the heaviness comes from lax lid and brow skin rather than from a descended brow, which is treated with VF Lift instead.

Key facts
Type
Laser skin protocol developed by Dr Sin Yong
Works on
Skin surface and upper dermis: texture, pores, pigment, mild laxity
Eyelids
Chosen for lax, textured lid and brow skin; VF Lift is chosen for a low brow
Not for
True ptosis, which is a surgical question

Where it fits

FSX Laser is one half of the pairing Dr Sin Yong uses day in, day out for droopy eyelids. The fingertip brow-lift test and a pinch test of the lid skin usually show whether the skin (FSX) or the brow (VF Lift) is the problem; after 45 both often apply. Frequently Asked Questions

It is used for lax, textured upper-lid and brow skin. A brow that has descended is treated with VF Lift, and true ptosis is referred for surgery.

FSX is a skin-directed protocol with settings chosen for Fitzpatrick III–V skin; redness and fine flaking for days are usual.
