what the term means

Where the 4K Body Lift matters on this site

The 4K Body Lift is named on several body pages, each covering a different decision. The protocol page explains the method; the concern pages explain when it is chosen over the other two body protocols and when something else is needed.

Not to be confused with

Four body terms on this site sound alike and are regularly mixed up in enquiries. Each acts on a different layer.

• VF Lift – Vertical Figure Lift: monopolar radiofrequency on Volnewmer, laid along vertical vectors for skin that has lost recoil. No needles are used and fat is not its target.
• Time Freeze Laser LCLR®: the laser protocol used where laxity sits over a thin fat layer, and for excess after fat grafting or liposuction.
• HIFEM: electromagnetic muscle stimulation, as in Emsculpt. It contracts muscle; it does not heat skin or fat. The 4K Body Lift uses no EMS of any kind.
• Fat freezing: cryolipolysis cools a pinchable pocket through an applicator. It is a different mechanism from radiofrequency delivered through insulated needles.
• RF microneedling for the face: the same needle technology used for pores and acne scars. On the body the settings, depths and the fractional RF pass are different, which is what the protocol name signals.

A useful shorthand: Figure Lift for skin that hangs, 4K Body Lift for fat that pinches, HIFEM for muscle, and surgery for volumes none of these should pretend to handle.

What decides whether the 4K Body Lift is the right tool for you

The decision is made in person, not from a photograph. Dr Sin Yong starts with the pinch test on the zone that bothers you.

• A compact, pinchable deposit with skin that snaps back points to the 4K Body Lift: radiofrequency can be directed at the fat and the skin over it.
• A loose fold that lifts away and returns slowly is a skin problem; that is the Vertical Figure Lift, and needling fat underneath it would not address the fold.
• Laxity over a thin fat layer is where Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is used instead.
• A large volume of fat, or marked excess skin after major weight loss, is a surgical question and is referred rather than treated with a device.
• A pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, metal implants or threads in or near the area, pregnancy, a bleeding tendency or blood-thinning medication are declared beforehand, because the protocol places radiofrequency through needles.
