What Is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a bio-remodelling injectable containing 64mg of NAHYCO® technology — a hybrid complex of high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid developed by IBSA. It is not a filler — it does not add structural volume or reshape the face. Instead, it stimulates the production of four types of collagen and elastin, improving skin quality from within.
The NAHYCO® technology allows Profhilo to spread through tissue after injection, unlike conventional HA fillers that stay localised. This means a large area can be remodelled from just five injection points per side of the face.
Profhilo vs Skin Boosters
Skin boosters (Restylane Vital, Juvederm Hydrate) contain cross-linked HA staying localised at the injection point — primarily providing hydration. Profhilo contains uncross-linked HA in the NAHYCO® hybrid complex that spreads through tissue and stimulates biological remodelling rather than simply hydrating. The outcome is improved elasticity, firmness and overall skin quality — not just surface hydration.
The Customised BAP Technique
Dr Sin Yong uses a Customised BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) Injection Technique — five anatomically mapped points per side of the face, customised to each patient's anatomy and areas of concern. Sessions take 20–30 minutes with topical numbing cream applied beforehand.
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
Dr Sin Yong's Profhilo protocol: 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for the initial course, followed by maintenance every 6 months. Results build progressively — improved hydration and early firming after session one, significant improvement in skin quality and tone by 4–6 weeks after session two.
