Dermal fillers, hyaluronic acid, lip fillers — understanding filler types, mechanisms and results.
This hub began with two articles from 2021, one comparing hyaluronic acid fillers with the collagen-stimulating alternatives and one on lip fillers. Both are still here, and both are now surrounded by a much larger set of pages that answer the questions the early articles raised: which filler suits which part of the face, why bone-support areas usually call for calcium hydroxylapatite or polycaprolactone rather than hyaluronic acid, what can and cannot be dissolved, and what an over-filled face looks like and how it is corrected. Dr Sin Yong maps fat, filler and tissue with ultrasound before any correction work, and every filler on this site is placed by him after an in-person assessment. The list runs from the general pages to the area-by-area guides, and ends with the comparison that separates fillers from muscle-relaxing injections, which are often confused with them.
